Fiber Optic Loss Budget Calc
How this policy was checked
This policy was prepared from the checked-in Android source for package com.ragheb.fiberopticlossbudget on October 1, 2026. It is a source review, not verification of a signed release, the final merged APK/AAB manifest, the current Google Play Data Safety form, or provider account/server settings.
Data in the app
Fiber projects and saved calculations, including project name, optional client name and notes, fiber link label, transceiver, link length, total loss, margin, and link/component design values.
The Android source stores these records in an app-local SQLite database. App settings are also kept in local app storage. The reviewed source has no account, cloud-sync, or developer-operated API path for these project records.
Saved records and reports
Deleting a project through the app invokes database deletion for that project; the database schema links its saved calculations and app-specific records to the project with cascading deletion. This is ordinary database deletion, not a promise of forensic erasure. Android's clear-storage or uninstall controls are expected to remove the app's private local data. The checked Android manifest disables backup and excludes app-private data from backup/transfer rules. Exact behavior in the signed release has not been verified. Some Android 12+ manufacturers may still allow device-to-device migration despite these configuration rules; behavior has not been verified across manufacturers.
The app can create a PDF in Android's print/preview flow. A PDF may contain project or calculation details selected for the report. If you print or save it through Android or another provider, that copy is outside the app and may be retained by the destination you choose.
Notifications and Firebase
The source initializes Firebase Cloud Messaging. The shared notification code requests campaign-topic subscription only when both the saved in-app campaign opt-in and Android notification permission are present. The messaging SDK can process a device registration token and service data; initialization does not prove that campaign topics are joined. Turning campaign opt-in off requests topic unsubscription, but the source does not establish deletion of Firebase registration data or its provider/server retention period. Firebase's processing and any server-side retention/deletion behavior were not verified. See Firebase privacy and security information.
Ads, fonts, and purchases
The source initializes Google Mobile Ads and its ad widgets check Google's UMP canRequestAds state before loading. The app requests a UMP consent-information update during ad initialization and shows Google's consent form when the SDK says one is required. A Privacy options entry appears in Settings when UMP requires it, and ad permission state refreshes after a user's choice. Native and app-open ad requests are gated by UMP's current canRequestAds state. The signed release's packaged ad IDs, account serving status, consent-message configuration, SDK version, and exact data Google processes are not verified by this source review. Google may process data through ad requests; see Google's Privacy Policy and Google's partner-services disclosure.
The source uses Google Fonts Inter and does not bundle its font file in the app assets. Depending on cache/runtime state, the Google Fonts package may request a font file from Google's font host. A release network trace was not performed.
The source includes Google Play Billing product lookup. Its purchase and restore methods currently return false, so this source audit does not claim that buying or restoring an upgrade works or is available in the released app. If Google Play Billing is reached, Google Play handles its own account and payment processing under its terms and privacy disclosures.
Permissions and device access
The checked Android app manifest declares Internet access and notification permission. The final merged release manifest, including permissions contributed by included SDKs, was not inspected.
Retention and choices
Use the in-app project delete control to remove a saved project and its linked rows from the local database. This does not delete PDFs or other copies you saved outside the app. The app has no user-record cloud account or deletion endpoint in the reviewed source. Firebase/Google provider data and server-side retention/deletion are not established by the app source and are not promised here.
Third-party services and unknowns
Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google Mobile Ads/UMP, Google Fonts where used, and Google Play Billing where present are operated by their respective providers. This source audit cannot establish their data categories, processing purposes, retention periods, or deletion outcomes for a particular release. The app's production provider configuration and Play Console disclosures require separate verification.
