Photo Metadata Inspector
How this policy was checked
This policy was prepared from the checked-in Android source for package com.ragheb.photo_metadata_cleaner on September 30, 2026. It is a source review, not verification of a signed release, the final merged APK/AAB manifest, the current Google Play Data Safety form, or provider account/server settings.
Data in the app
The reviewed Android source keeps the selected image URI and inspection findings in the active inspection flow; it does not add selected images or their metadata to an app database or send them to a developer API in that flow. Notification consent state may be stored in Android app preferences by the shared notification component.
The checked Android manifest disables app backup, and its extraction rules exclude app-private files, databases, preferences, and external storage from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. The checked source has no app account, Firestore, or developer API route for photos. This describes the checked-in Android configuration. Some Android 12+ manufacturers may still allow device-to-device migration; behavior has not been verified across manufacturers.
Selected photos and metadata
On Android, you choose an image through the system photo picker or document picker. The native inspection code reads supported EXIF fields on the device and shows findings in the app. Readable fields can include GPS coordinates, camera/device model and serial values, owner or author text, timestamps, editing software, copyright, and camera settings.
The inspected source flow does not upload, rewrite, or create a cleaned copy of the selected photo. It does not place selected photos or findings in an app database. This describes the reviewed Android source path, not every possible behavior of a different signed release or third-party component.
Notifications and Firebase
The source initializes Firebase Cloud Messaging. The shared notification code requests campaign-topic subscription only when both the saved in-app campaign opt-in and Android notification permission are present. The messaging SDK can process a device registration token and service data; initialization does not prove that campaign topics are joined. Turning campaign opt-in off requests topic unsubscription, but the source does not establish deletion of Firebase registration data or its provider/server retention period. Firebase's processing and any server-side retention/deletion behavior were not verified. See Firebase privacy and security information.
Ads, fonts, and purchases
The source initializes Google Mobile Ads and includes Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent-information update and consent-form flow before it permits ad requests. It also checks whether ads can be requested before loading an ad. The final release's ad IDs, serving status, SDK version, consent configuration, and the exact data Google processes were not verified. See Google's Privacy Policy and Google's partner-services disclosure.
This app does not include Google Fonts in its declared dependencies.
The source does not include an in-app purchase dependency or purchase flow.
Permissions and device access
The checked Android app manifest declares notification permission. Google Mobile Ads and Firebase messaging SDKs are included, and may contribute permissions in the merged app manifest; the final merged release manifest was not inspected. The photo inspection path uses Android's system picker and the source manifest does not declare broad photo-library permission.
Retention and choices
The reviewed photo inspection flow does not persist the selected image or its findings in an app database. Notification preferences can remain in app preferences. The source provides no photo-account or server deletion endpoint because no app photo account/server path was found. Firebase and Google Ads provider retention/deletion behavior is outside what the app source establishes.
Use Android app settings to clear the app's local storage or uninstall it to remove app-private settings. Any image copy already held by the gallery, picker provider, or another app is outside this app's control.
Third-party services and unknowns
Firebase Cloud Messaging, Google Mobile Ads/UMP, Google Fonts where used, and Google Play Billing where present are operated by their respective providers. This source audit cannot establish their data categories, processing purposes, retention periods, or deletion outcomes for a particular release. The app's production provider configuration and Play Console disclosures require separate verification.
